Rotating Art Galleries & Flexible Hardware |
|
A rotating art gallery is often a welcome idea as it provides patients and staff with continually changing image displays. In communities where local artists are abundant, a rotating gallery can feature local artists and foster community relations. There are three essential elements involved in these galleries, time, image supply, and flexible hardware.
It is important for facilities to realize that time and personnel will need to be dedicated to the gallery to keep it running smoothly. Time will be needed to approve artist works prior to display, and to schedule displays, oversee installation and removal of images. Artists like the opportunity to display their work in hopes of generating sales, however they do not like to leave their work displayed indefinitely. A good rule of thumb regarding display time per artist is 8 to 12 weeks. Art classes at local schools can also be a source for art displays.
Flexible hardware is critical to the ease and flexibility of a rotating art gallery. The hardware system shown features a continuous track mounted at the ceiling line. Vertical cables connect into the track and slide along its length. Cables can be added or removed from the track to accommodate multiple image sizes and arrangements. Single or multiple hooks easily attach to the cables. These hooks are then attached to the hanging wire on the back of a framed image allowing it to be displayed without altering the frame. This hardware system allows images to be displayed in a multitude of configurations without damaging or repairing wall surfaces. |

Security hardware offers security accident prevention and stability. Distinctive Art Source uses 4 point security hardware to increase the stability and permanence of installed artwork. Besides offering key only removals, this hardware system insures images remain level, no matter how many carts are bumped into them. Using 2 brackets on the top and bottom edge of the frame prevents rocking and offers a more secure installation.4 Point security hardware consists of:
· Four brackets mounted on the back of a wooden frame, metal frames do not need these brackets.
· Two wall mounted brackets (Top edge of frame).
· Two wall mounted T screws (Bottom edge of frame).
· One security key
This 4 point security hardware system can be easily added on site to existing artwork. |
