Winter strongly impacts life in Maine so winter representation was a must for the art program.  Crisp positive winter scenes full of sunshine and color were chosen as a way to help encourage viewers to go outside and enjoy the beautiful winter days.

Radiology Rotating Art Gallery: Thanks to the generosity of an extremely talented local photographer and hospital volunteer, Don Verger, Mercy Hospital offers visitors to their radiology waiting room, (near the main hospital entrance) an art gallery whose images will change three times each year.  Upon learning of the generous donation offer, DAS orchestrated the creation of the rotating gallery by identifying responsibilities, establishing a schedule and coordinating fabrication, storage and installations for the next five years.  Gallery track hardware was installed to provide maintenance free art rotations.  Selected images were printed in uniform size formats.  Fabricated frames have removable backs to easily allow the replacement of one matted image with another.  For each art rotation, the artist will combine nine images of his choice from an existing preselected pre-matted library of printed original photographs.  Photographs were selected and displayed in infinite combinations, all of which would radiate local natural beauty.
